FIVE youngsters from Ebbsfleet United’s youth system have been signed by West Ham, Charlton and Gillingham.

Jack Eggleton has joined the Hammers, Luke Carey has been snapped up by the Addicks and Harry Martin-Clements, Ryan Sandford and Stuart Hastings have all signed for Gillingham.

The individual success of the five comes on the back of another impressive campaign from Ebbsfleet’s various youth teams.

Ebbsfleet United Reds under-nines finished 14 points clear at the top of the Bexley & District Division A, remaining undefeated throughout the season.

Carey played a key role as they completed the double by demolishing Darenth Cougars 6-0 in the final of the Bexley Cup.

There was also a double triumph for the under-11s in their first season as an 11-a-side outfit.

The boys achieved a goal difference of 75 on their way to the championship and overcame Long Lane Pumas 6-3 in the final of the Ann Perks Memorial Cup.

Ebbsfleet United’s under-15s were the first side to land silverware this season with a 1-0 victory against Crockenhill in the final of the Faversham Trophy.

A 5-2 home win over Dartford on April 26 ensured the under-16s won the Kent Youth League south division championship with three games to spare.
