Lucas Lima snubbed an official offer from Crystal Palace because they are “not a big club”, according to the player’s agent.

Lima’s representative, Wagner Ribeiro, has confirmed the Brazilian playmaker attracted multiple bids earlier in the summer.

The 26-year-old was approached by a Chinese club before Crystal Palace expressed an interest in his services.

Speaking to ESPN Brasil – via Sport Witness – Riberio said: “He rejected it [a bid from China], he said something better would come, since he wanted a better club. I respected it.

“Now in this window from June to August he received two more offers, but he also didn’t want it because it was not from a big club, which is his dream.

“It was from England, from Crystal Palace. And the other bid was from Zenit from Russia.”

Brazil international Lima has score eight league goals in 80 games for Santos since signing for the club in 2014.
