West Ham and Crystal Palace have been dealt a transfer blow, with Massimiliano Allegri confirming that Simone Zaza will not be leaving Juventus this season.

The 24-year-old striker only signed for Juventus in the summer, but has been linked with a move after struggling to feature for the Italian giants.

Zaza has only made three starts this season and was reportedly the subject of substantial interest from West Ham and Palace.

However, Juventus boss Allegri insists that Zaza will remain in Serie A.

“Zaza is staying,” the 48-year-old said.

“He’s untransferable. He deserves to play more – our forward are all good enough.”

Crystal Palace are desperate to bring in a forward this month after failing to score a single goal in five league games.

Alan Pardew has admitted that he hopes to complete a “big-name striker”, while Dwight Gayle is expected to leave Selhurst Park this month.

Meanwhile, the Hammers want to bolster their frontline with attacking duo Mauro Zarate and Nikica Jelavic heavily linked with a move away from east London.
