Neil Harris has made his first signing as Millwall manager by drafting in right-back Mahlon Romeo, the son of Soul II Soul frontman Jazzie B.
The 19-year-old spent three years on the Gills’ books but has today penned a 12-month deal at The Den.
Harris knows what he is getting because Romeo had already represented the Lions U21s with Gillingham’s blessing at the end of last season.
The teenager told millwallfc.co.uk: “I already know Alfie Pavey from my time at Gillingham.
“Alfie was at Maidstone then and we used to play them quite a bit in friendlies and so on.
“Everyone has been really friendly here already and I'm delighted to sign for Millwall."
