Lee Gregory is convinced Millwall can still beat the drop despite blowing a 3-1 lead at home to Derby on Saturday.

Gregory grabbed his first ever Football League hat-trick against the Rams but late goals from Chris Martin and Jeff Hendrick rescued a point for the visitors to leave the Lions in the relegation zone.

The side immediately above them Rotherham have the opportunity tomorrow evening to send Millwall down by beating Reading.

But Gregory feels all of the pressure is on the Millers and that the Lions can take full advantage by beating Wolves on the final day and pulling off a Great Escape.

He said: “I don’t think we will get relegated. I think we will pull out of it, I really do.

“I think the pressure is on Rotherham, it is better to be behind rather than in front.

“(If) Rotherham don’t get a result on Tuesday and it’s all to play for.

“I’ll definitely be watching at home and hopefully Reading can do the business.

“Hopefully Rotherham will bottle it on the last day of the season and we get a win at Wolves.”

Gregory is still a firm believer practice makes perfect when it comes to penalties after two of his efforts came from the spot.

The 26-year-old admitted there was a degree of fortune in claiming his first Football League treble against the Rams, but also confessed the final result seemed more like a loss.

“It feels like a defeat,” Gregory said.

“I was a little lucky today with two penalties, but I don’t care how they come as they’re goals.

“When I missed a penalty against Charlton, Chopper said ‘Don’t worry about it’ and I’ve been in training the last few weeks practicing penalties all week.

“I knew I was going that side and it paid off. I’ve been predicting the penalties the last few weeks, I was going that way.

“I tell the goalkeepers to try and save it in training. I’m always going to go the same way and the keeper has to try and save it.”

Not only does Gregory practice his spot-kicks, but since the appointment of Neil Harris the players have had extra finishing practice scheduled for training.

The striker explained: “We do it every day now so were a lot more confident. We know what we’re doing when we go forward and it is paying off.

“We are scoring goals.

“The last two games we didn’t but you have games like that.

“We should have scored at Cardiff and Blackburn but we didn’t. You can’t score in every game.”
