University of Surrey student Alan Abad, 18, has commentated on Kevin Phillips’ promotion-winning penalty in the 2013 play-off final, and Marouane Chamakh’s slick finish against Southampton in this season’s FA Cup.

Accountant Janet Roberts took hold of the microphone to describe Neil Shipperley’s goal against West Ham in the 2004 play-off final, as well as Hiram Boateng’s Maradona-esque dribble and finish against Colchester U21s this year.

Postal worker Helen Watson, who says the 2013 play-off final was the best day of her life,was challenged to describe David Hopkin’s curling effort in the 1997 play-off final and youngster Sullay Kaikai’s first senior goal against Newcastle United in the League Cup.
