Millwall boss Ian Holloway could scarcely find any positives from his side’s 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield on Saturday.

A Nahki Wells double - his third in two games against the Lions - either side of an Ed Upson equaliser condemned Holloway's men to a third defeat in four.

The Den chief was far from happy with his side’s performance and the two they conceded, but gave some praise to Upson after his first goal in a Lions shirt.

Holloway said: “Their first is after a long ball forward, which we should have dealt with, but then we go and score what was probably our best goal of the season.

“I’m pleased for Ed and I was waiting for his goal to ignite us, but then we go and concede again.

“I’m fuming to be honest. I couldn’t wait to say what I said at half-time but we were worse after that.”

Holloway bemoaned his side’s efforts against what is fast becoming one of Millwall's bogey teams.

The Lions haven't beaten Huddersfield in more than four years, the last victory coming in the May 2010 League One play-off semi-final second leg.

And Holloway said his team looked unrecognisable to what he has become accustomed to.

He said: “You can’t legislate for how bad our passing was at times.

“The performance was unrecognisable from most of the others we’ve put in.

“I can’t wait to get back to The Den on Tuesday (against Birmingham City).

“One point from the last 12 as far as I’m concerned isn’t anywhere near good enough and I’m not happy about it.

“It’s really difficult for me to talk about because it didn’t look like my team out there.”
