North West Kent College has an established reputation as a leading learning provider of apprenticeship schemes in the South East.

What is not such a well known fact is that NWK College also supports apprentices by employing them, giving them the opportunity to utilise the skills they learned in class and gain some much needed work experience.

Two Business Administration apprentices with NWK College comment on their experiences.

Chloe White, Apprentice Administrator for SusCon, said: “My time as an apprentice with SusCon enabled me to learn so many new skills. It was a great opportunity to gain office experience as well as an NVQ level 3 qualification in Business and Administration.

“I would highly recommend an apprenticeship to anybody who is starting out in a new career and needs the necessary qualifications to progress.”

Amy Bauer, Apprentice Finance Assistant agreed. She said: "Before I saw the advertisement for this apprenticeship, I was struggling to get into the job market. The apprenticeship at North West Kent College has been really good for my confidence and has built up my administrative and communication skills. I have had a lot of support, not only from my assessors, but from my colleagues too - I now feel good about my future prospects".

NWK Business Services campaign to employ 112 apprentices by 2012 is on target with the total currently standing at 73 new apprentices. If you are interested in employing an apprentice please contact Teresa Gilroy on 01322 629769 or email teresagilroy@nwkcollege.ac.uk.
