We’re not even halfway through August and already the catwalks are ablaze with new tantalising autumn trends.
So, put your summer clothes to the back of the wardrobe and follow Greenwich Shopping Park’s tips to make you a fashion setter, rather than a follower, this autumn.
Inspired by nature
Walking through the park, take a good look at the earthy browns, mossy greens, fiery reds and golden yellows in the leaves below – these colours set the trend for this season’s must-have fashion palette.
Patterned chiffon skirts, knitted jumper dresses and animal prints in autumnal shades are hot on the clothes racks.

Top tip: Over-the-knee boots and a leather satchel bag add a pagan-folk look to your outfit. Try H&M for a great range of day and evening handbags.
Countryside chic
Forget matching, because this season is all about creating a clash of textures. Traditional hand-crafted effects such as patchwork and crochet items bring a touch of country chic to any outfit, while denim jackets with fur and lace trims, traditional check-inspired kilts and chunky leather belts all mirror autumn’s vintage look.
These check wool shorts, £25, and cable knit jumper, £35, both from Next, create a classic look fit for the Lady of the Manor.
Top tip: Keep locks long and natural to add to this care-free look. Adding a trilby will help take this outfit up a level from afternoon to evening.
Boy meets girl
Teaming ultra feminine items such as floaty dresses, lace tops and floral pleated skirts with masculine tailored jackets will give you a high fashion look straight off the catwalk.
Look out for khaki, military inspired items to give any girly outfit sharp definition.
And don’t be afraid to mix contrasting materials – try teaming tough leather items with luxurious velvet for a contemporary vibe.

Top tip: If you don’t feel confident enough to wear both trends at once, then capture an element of the look, by going wild with accessories. Go for pretty embellished clutch bags, bow hairbands and pearls – they all look great with leather, studded boots, quirky pattered scarves and chunky buckled belts.
