Hello All

Well I am here to talk to the lovely BA members of staff who are also members of the union UNITE.

Personally I would just love to know what planet you are all on as it surely can’t be earth!

I don’t know if any of you have noticed but for the last year we have been in the midst of an economic crisis, people are in debt, people have lost their job, had hours cut, lost their homes, companies have gone under and so many people are now unemployed. As to me it seems you obviously are in a different world as this does not seem to have effected you.

Over the last 6 weeks a volcanic ash cloud has also descended over the UK and Europe costing airlines millions of pounds, some of which will never be able to recover, which will mean they will go out of business and that means there will be airline staff in the job centre queues who would probably give their right arm to work for prestigious company like BA.

I would really like to know what life is like at BA - is it really that bad? 90% discounted fares for you and your family? Rest days in 4 or 5 star hotels? Gosh it really must H*ll? My heart really bleeds for you.

Due the volcanic ash saga, many people had holidays cut short, got stuck in places and had to spend hundreds of pounds getting home. So as half term approaches I am sure a lot of people think lets try again for our hard earned break, and when do the lovely staff who are members of UNITE decide to strike o yes right over the half term period, causing misery to millions of BA customers (you know the people who in theory pay your wages).

Not only content are you in causing misery over half term, you have also kindly called for strikes over the World Cup period. I know how hard tickets are to get for the world cup, so can you imagine how happy someone would be to get their tickets, and get their flights and hotels booked for that time. For some this really is a chance of a life time and it has probably taken time and effort to save up for this, so thanks Members of Unite, that is so kind.

In this day and age, in this economic climate how can anyone think about going on strike?

I understand if someone is in a truly unfair working situation at times steps do need to be taken.

So Members of Unite, please explain to us these terrible working conditions you have to endure on a daily basis and how you feel that your strike action is really necessary and how you feel justified in causing misery to so many people.

One might want to point out, people will book flights with other airlines, BA will suffer and you know what, who knows if you will even have a job to strike from in the future.

In this humble fairy’s opinion, she thinks that in the wake of this current climate and the horrible time a lot of people have had to endure that this action is purely selfish!! All I can say is it’s a good job I have wings and fairy dust!
