Hi All

I hope you are well - sorry been a bit of a stressful time at Bell Towers, the ex causing trouble, work very busy and of course the break in!!! I won’t bore you with that though.

Now winter is drawing in…… yes I’m sorry it is, it is getting darker quicker and getting a bit chilly of an evening, have you been tempted yet to put on your heating?

I have been tempted but so far have resisted. In bygone years once I felt a chill in the air, I turned the thermostat up and basked in the warm glow of a cosy house (until the ex-Mr Bell would turn it down again - we had a great game with this!) The thing is I had no qualms about turning it on.

However it is now slightly different, as I am sure everyone has, the Belle household has been hit quite hard during the credit crunch and every penny counts. My monthly direct debit bills soared, so over the summer months we really cut down on our energy output to get it all back down. It has worked I have had my gas knocked down by £40 a month and by changing suppliers for my electricity I have saved £30 a month so a whopping £70 saved!

Although this saving does not mean I will go back to my frivolous ways, when the temperature drops I’ll reach for an extra cardi and snuggle down under a fleece with the Current Mr Bell on the sofa before I’ll even think about touching the thermostat!

What about you? How are you coping with the price hikes and do you have any energy saving tips that you want to pass on?

Love
