A JURY has been shown CCTV footage of the final movements of two murdered French students.

Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez, both 23, were caught on camera at Victoria station at around 5.30pm on June 28.

Later footage showed them at South Kensington Tube station and then smiling in a McDonald's near Canada Water at around 9.45pm.

They had previously been to Wimbledon that day in a failed attempt to watch the tennis, and later viewed part of a French rugby game on a pub television.

But in the early hours of the following morning, the pair were stabbed 244 times and killed at Mr Bonomo's flat in Sterling Gardens, New Cross.

Earlier today (May 6), the Old Bailey was told how DNA evidence could not exclude one of the two men accused of the crime, Dano Sonnex, from the murder scene.

Possible traces of his DNA were found on a pair of tights used to bind Mr Ferez's left hand, on the dead man's bankcard, and on a tap in Mr Bonomo's bathroom.

Mr Bonomo had been tied up using a belt, a green-striped top, and had a yellow towel wrapped around his head, the court heard.

A tea towel was used to bind Mr Ferez's legs and a blue cloth was wrapped around his neck.

It is alleged the pair were tortured for their PIN numbers.

The flat was later set on fire by Nigel Farmer, who claims he did so under duress.

Farmer and Sonnex blame each other for the killings.

Farmer, aged 33, of no fixed address, and Sonnex, aged 23, of Etta Street, Deptford, deny murder, arson and false imprisonment.

Sonnex admits burglary but Farmer denies the charge.

The trial continues.
