Shakilus Townsend was killed last July
SEVEN teenagers are due to go on trial accused of murdering 16-year-old Shakilus Townsend.
Shakilus, of Tanners Hill, Deptford, was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed in Thornton Heath on July 3 last year and died in hospital the next day.
Tyrell Ellis, Danny McLean, both 18 and from Thornton Heath, and Andre Johnson-Haynes, also 18, and from Croydon, deny murder.
Two boys aged 17, another aged 16 and a 16-year-old girl, who cannot be named because of their ages, have also pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Their trial is listed to begin at the Old Bailey.
