YOUNG drummers proved they had rhythm at a workshop at Erith School yesterday (April 8) as part of the BeXfactor competition.

Around 60 singers and musicians are improving their skills with workshops this Easter holiday in the borough of Bexley where they are trying to show they have the BeXfactor.

With cash from the Arts Council of England, Bexley Council has teamed up with the Point Blank Music College, to hold the competition for young people.

Judges will whittle the 60 down to 20 after the boot camps and these remaining acts will be mentored by acclaimed artists.

They will also perform live on the main stage at this year’s Danson Festival in July, with their celebrity mentors, and have the opportunity to make their own CD.

And for the lucky winner there will be a scholarship to Point Blank, the music college in north London whose past pupils include X Factor winner Leona Lewis.
