O dear things really have got quite serious here in the land of blog and an old friend asked me to write something a bit more light hearted, so I will try to oblige.

Well Spring has sprung and the days are getting longer and I don’t know about you, but these lighter evenings really give me a sense of purpose. Swimming and taking the dog for longer walks are being talked about and both The Current Mr Bell and I could do with shedding a few pounds (all those lovely winter stodgy meals have taken their toll).

I am also thinking it is time to give the House in the Lane a really good clean from top to bottom and finally have a good clear out. So Easter weekend I am going to start this. Starting with the worse room in the house, the junk room. You know that room you just stuff things in to get them out of the way…….. Mine is now a joke, it is stuffed full of clothes and rubbish that probably haven’t seen the light of day for a year, so it is time. I may also get out the paint brush eek! The first Mr Bell never really rated my DIY skills (he was proficient in that department, however, the current Mr Bell is no DIY whizz but he has assured he’s good with a paint brush - so we’ll see!)

I wonder what your plans are for Easter? Will you be stuffing your faces with chocolate? Will you be jetting off to sunnier climes? Will you be like me and go for the DIY/Spring Clean fest? Or will you just chill and enjoy time with your family and loved ones?

My wings are all a flutter and I am looking forward to 5 when I can fly away and start the weekend. On Saturday I have set myself a challenge and I am cooking a risotto for the first time ever… Anyone got any tips for a perfect risotto??

Have a good one, and you know what, just keep smiling and enjoy life as it really is too short to be bothered about trivial things.
