JIMMY Mizen's murderer has a history of violence dating back to his school days.

Jake Fahri has previous convictions for robbery, burglary and assault.

Before Jimmy's death, 19-year-old Fahri lived with his Turkish father Mustaffa and mother Shirley on a middle-class estate in Milborough Crescent, Lee.

Fahri was a former pupil at Crown Woods School in Eltham and worked as a heating engineer for his dad's plumbing company.

When News Shopper spoke to neighbours, one described her shock at hearing the teen was involved in a high-profile murder case.

But most who lived near Fahri already had him labelled as a troublesome youngster.

Back in 2001 Jimmy Mizen’s brother Harry, then 10 years old, was surrounded by Fahri and his friends who forced the youngster to hand over money.

Harry told his mother Margaret about the incident when he returned home. Mrs Mizen reported the mugging to Fahri's school and Fahri was given a telling off.

Two years later Fahri and Harry Mizen, then in Year 9, bumped into each other again in Woodyates Road, Lee.

This time Fahri was more threatening - calling Harry a “grass” and chasing him behind a car before the owner came out to see what was going on.

Harry explained and the woman told Fahri to leave him alone.

But as Harry walked off, Fahri caught up with him, punching him in the chest and kicking him in the legs.

This time Mrs Mizen went straight to the police, who paid Fahri a visit at his parents' house.

Fahri was involved in another violent incident in November 2005 when he was 16 years old.

He owed a friend, Ellis Harrington, some money and had failed to pay her back, prompting the the 16-year-old girl to visit Fahri’s mother asking for the cash.

Later, Fahri spotted the girl through the window of an internet cafe. He pointed at her while shouting: “I should slap your face off now.”

After Miss Harrington left the cafe Fahri went up to her, poked at her head and spat in her face.

He then slapped her face several times and kicked her legs from beneath her so that she fell to the ground.

A passer-by stopped the attack and Miss Ellington was not seriously hurt.

Neighbours in Milborough Crescent were quick to speak of Fahri's intimidating behaviour - but did not want to give their names.

One said: “I had to have a word with him a few times. He used to come out of the house with bags of rubbish and just dump it in the middle of the road.

“Sometimes he would take it over to a fence over the road and chuck it over there.

“I would go out and have a word with him – tell him not to dump on his own doorstep – and he just stared at me. Glared at me intensely. So I walked off.”

Another neighbour, who also asked to remain anonymous, said: “Him and his mates were always walking around here late at night.

“I would come back from work when it was dark and they would all stop and stare, and watch me walk into my house.”

A young girl, who lived nearby, described her shock after seeing Fahri’s name in the newspapers last summer.

“He was a nice young man in a nice young family.

“He always used to say hello when I walked past his house. I am just so surprised that he could be capable of something like this.”
