THE jury in the Jimmy Mizen murder trial has retired to consider its verdict.

Judge David Calvert-Smith told jurors at the Old Bailey they must decide whether defendant Jake Fahri is guilty of murder, guilty of manslaughter or not guilty.

Jimmy was killed when a glass dish was thrown at him, cutting his throat, following a row at the Three Cooks Bakery in Lee on May 10 last year.

Concluding the trial, Judge Calvert-Smith told the jury: “It is up to you to decide how important or how relevant each piece of evidence is.

“It is up to you to decide which witnesses were reliable, which were lying, and which were trying to tell the truth but may have been mistaken.”

Jake Fahri, aged 19, of Milborough Crescent, Lee, denies murder and says he was acting in self-defence.
