A BAKERY worker speaking at the Jimmy Mizen trial says the man accused of murdering the teenager "just went berserk."

Lesley Crocker was working at the Three Cooks bakery in Lee on May 10 last year when 16-year-old Jimmy's throat was cut during a row.

Ms Crocker said she saw defendant Jake Fahri pointing a key inches from Jimmy's face before saying: "Come outside, come outside".

She then told the court that Fahri left the shop before returning with "a frame from an advertising board held above his head, chasing Jimmy through the shop".

The bakery worker added: "He just went berserk."

The Old Bailey then heard how Ms Crocker went out to the bakery's staff room at the back of the building before turning to see Jimmy "standing on his left leg with his arms out-stretched."

She said "blood was pouring out of his neck" and that it was so distressing she "lost all colour and saw the scene in black and white".

The court was then told how she "felt something wet on her face" and looked down to find she "was covered in blood".

She added: "My colleague Sam was screaming and I thought 'I've got to get out of here'."

Jurors had previously heard from Jimmy's older brother Tommy Mizen who arrived at the bakery shortly after the incident after receiving a call from his brother Harry, 19, saying "Jimmy's in trouble - get round here".

Tommy Mizen, aged 27, told the court how he saw Fahri running from the scene. Mr Mizen then entered the bakery and followed a trail of blood to find Jimmy standing in a storage cupboard.

He said his younger brother fell into his arms and that he laid him on the floor before using toilet roll to try to stem the flow of blood from his neck.

Jimmy died when his jugular was cut after a glass dish was thrown at him - hitting him in the neck.

Fahri, aged 19, of Milborough Crescent, Lee, denies murder and says he was acting in self-defence.

The trial continues.
