This weekend some London Overground and Thameslink services in south London will be affected as a result of planned engineering works.

This weekend there are planned engineering works in south London, affecting routes running between central London, Kent and south London.

Thameslink and TFL have advised that some routes will not be served, with bus replacement services running for certain routes over the weekend.

We’ve rounded up all the planned works and changes on Thameslink and London Overground services this weekend in south London and what you need to know:

Thameslink

Buses to replace trains between Herne Hill and Bromley South

On Saturday, planned engineering works between Nunhead and Shortlands will affect travel between London Blackfriars and Sevenoaks.

As a result Thameslink has advised that a replacement bus service will run for customers travelling between Herne Hill and Bromley South, calling at stations via Catford apart from Nunhead and Ravensbourne, and will call at the additional station of Beckenham Junction.

A revised timetable is set to run between Sevenoaks and Orpington, diverting at Herne Hill, and additionally calling at Beckenham Junction on Saturday.

Thameslink has advised customers that tickets will be accepted on London Bus routes for travel to Nunhead or Ravensbourne on Saturday.

Buses to replace trains via Bromley South

On Sunday, engineering work is set to take place at Bromley South station, affecting travel between London Victoria, London Blackfriars and Sevenoaks.

Customers travelling between Swanley and Herne Hill via Catford are advised to travel using a rail replacement bus service on Sunday.

However, Nunhead and Ravensbourne will not be served, with customers advised to travel via London Bus routes to complete their journeys to these stations using their tickets.

Buses replace trains via Gravesend

On Saturday and Sunday engineering work taking place between Greenwich and Strood will affect travel between Dartford and Strood over the weekend.

No Thameslink services will run between Dartford and Strood over the weekend, with customers advised to use Southeastern bus replacement services between Dartford and Strood.

South London stations affected:

  • Dartford

Sunday, May 12 - No trains between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace / West Croydon

On Sunday, no Thameslink trains will run between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace or West Croydon, due to planned engineering works taking place between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace.

On Sunday, trains between Royston, Finsbury Park, Bedford and Three Bridges, Horsham and Brighton will be diverted between London Blackfriars and East Croydon and will not call at London Bridge.

Thameslink services in Sutton will also not run via Wimbledon on Sunday and no services will stop at Mitcham Eastfields, Mitcham Junction, Hackbridge or Carshalton.

London Overground

No Overground services between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction

On Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 no Overground Services will run between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction, affecting travel at the two stations.

Instead, trains will be diverted to and from Battersea Park for connections via Southern to and from Clapham Junction for passengers to complete their journeys.

  • Clapham Junction

No Overground services between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction

TFL has advised that there will be no Overground services between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction over the weekend, from 7:30pm on Sunday until 12:30pm on Sunday.

Customers travelling between the stations not served are being advised to use London Underground and London Bus services to complete their journeys during the planned works.

South London stations affected:

  • Clapham Junction

No service between New Cross Gate and West Croydon / Crystal Palace

On Sunday, TFL has advised customers that there will be no services running between New Cross Gate and West Croydon or Crystal Palace.

Instead, a replacement bus service is set to run between New Cross Gate and West Croydon via the following stops:

  • Brockley
  • Honor Oak Park
  • Forest Hill
  • Sydenham
  • Crystal Palace
  • Anerley (for Penge West)
  • Norwood Junction
  • Selhurst (for Southern train services)

South London stations affected:
