A popular Italian restaurant in Lewisham has appeared in the new, heart-wrenching Netflix TV series One Day.

From the late eighties to 2007, One Day narrates the journey of Dexter and Emma whose paths intertwine on their graduation day from University of Edinburgh.

Over the course of two decades, we witness their love story unfold, experiencing both its highs and lows against the iconic backdrop of London.

This includes cherished spots like Primrose Hill, Fire nightclub in Brixton, and a beloved Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Lewisham, Bella Roma.

In episode 13 of One Day, Dexter, Emma, and Jasmine head out for pizza together at the family-run Italian restaurant located at 13 Lewis Grove.

Bella Roma is located next to a beauty supply store just a short walk from Lewisham train station, and features a sleek, stylish interior with bright green paint.

The restaurant is open seven days a week from 11.30am until 10.30pm and sells a wide range of familiar favourite pizzas and pastas and one-of-a-kind dishes.

On its website, one reviewer says their experience felt like “being in Italy” as it has the “best pizza” they have ever tasted in south east London.

The reviewer added: “The pizza is as good as Franco Manca’s or Princi. They were super child friendly, great service.”

The menu includes starters like a choice of antipasti including mascardinos (deep fried baby squid), and doze scoppiate (fresh mussels in white wine), and hearty mains like the torsion, a potato and vegetable cake topped with fontina cheese and rocket, and a classic spaghetti carbonara.

On a Facebook post, the team at Bella Roma invited customers to “experience the magic” and visit the beloved restaurant themselves.

It reads: “Bella Roma takes the spotlight in the 'One Day' Netflix series.

“Catch a glimpse of our charming ambiance in episode 13, where Emma and Dexter share a moment over our authentic pizza.

“Want to experience the magic of the series up close?

“Join us at Bella Roma for a taste of Italy and relive your favourite scene.”
