I WANT to raise £1,000 for charity, but I don't want to do it in the conventional way.

In fact, I don't really want to do anything to raise a grand for a good cause.

I certainly don't want to spend months training for something, and then have to do a gruelling physical challenge.

I definitely don't want to do anything dangerous or daring.

And I don't want the hassle of trying to beg money out of friends and family for my charity venture.

Instead what I'm gong to do is use the power of the internet and this wonderful News Shopper keyring.

Yes, this keyring could be yours - you could own this limited edition collector's item. See its classic yet modern look and admire its beautiful yet basic design.

Rekindling memories of swapping duplicate football stickers or marbles in the playground, I want someone to offer me something in exchange for my keyring.

In an ideal world someone would offer me a cheque for £1,000 for it to complete my mission in one step, but I'm not expecting that.

What I do want though is to swap it for something better, if that is possible.

I will choose the best item to exchange the keyring for out of the flood of offers I am bound to get. I will then seek to swap the new item for something even better, and so on.

What I want to do is start a chain of swaps which will eventually lead to me having something which is worth someone swapping for £1,000.

I don't mind how many swaps it takes so long as I hit the target of raising a grand. Whoever swaps the £1,000 for whatever special item I have at the time can decide who their cash goes to, on condition it must be a local charity.

So to get the ball rolling, is there an avid keyring collector out there? Is there someone who wants to be a link in this charity swap chain just for the fun of it? Is there a business or shop out there which wants a bit of free publicity for doing something worthwhile?

I'm open to anything - from actual products to services, from tickets to offers of time.

Send me details of what you want to exchange for my keyring, along with a picture of your potential swap, to sbull@london.newsquest.co.uk
