Eight miles of traffic built up this morning after a crash on the M25 between a lorry and a van.

National Highways said that the crash was first reported at 6.44am this morning (Monday, January 22) anticlockwise on the M25 between J28 and J27.

Lane one of three was closed from 7.09am as the incident was dealt with.

No injuries were reported to National Highways.

The lane was reopened at 8.33am.

There were lengthy delays with a peak of over one hour and eight miles.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “First call to us was 06.44

“Two vehicle RTC involving a HGV and a van

“Location was anticlockwise M25 J28 - J27

“Lane 1 of 3 was closed from 07.09

“No details on injuries.

“Lane was reopened at 08.33

“Delays were significant and at their peak were 70 mins and 8 miles.”
