Six men have appeared in court accused of murdering Kai McGinley who was shot dead in Erith. 

The men, aged between 18 and 33, are charged with murdering after the 24-year-old was shot on Pembroke Road on Thursday February 9. 

After reports of gunfire police rushed to the scene at 8.50pm where they found Kai with a gunshot injury.  

Despite the best efforts of emergency services to save him, Kai died at the scene. 

The six have all been charged with Kai’s murder as well as the attempted murder of two other men. 

At the Old Bailey on Tuesday (May 30) five of the six men entered not guilty pleas to all charges. They are: 

  • Enriko Spahiu, 20, of Elmhurst in Belvedere 
  • Jalees Selby-Gangera, 18, of Lincoln Road in Erith 
  • Connor Brooke, 21, of Horsa Road in Erith 
  • Anthony Wallder, 20, of Eastry Road in Erith 
  • Bradley Reeve, 33, of Chapman Road in Erith 

The sixth man, Kai Osibodu, 23, of Riverdale Road in Belvedere, will be asked to enter pleas at a later date. 

A trial is set to take place on January 3, 2024.

The trial is estimated to last for between 10 and 12 weeks.
