A Dartford man has appeared in court after he punched and stamped on the head of an unconscious man in a savage attack.

Tyreece Beesley, of Bevis Close, appeared at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday (April 26) having pleaded guilty to assault.

The court was told that Beesley was in the smoking area of a bar in Gravesend on October 30 when he and the victim started talking.

CCTV footage showed that the pair appeared to be getting on and at one point they were shaking hands.

However, as they let go of each other’s hands Beesley punched the man in the face leaving him unconscious on the floor.

Beesley, 22, then punched and stamped on the unconscious man’s head and appeared to go to walk away twice before returning to continue the attack, Prosecutor Daniel Kersh said.

The victim woke up in an alleyway next to the bar before he managed to stagger down the street to report the incident to police.

A statement from the victim explained that he was very drunk at the time and did not know Beesley or why he was attacked.

Prosecutor Kersh told the court that on Christmas Eve, less than two months after to this attack, Beesley had committed another assault in a bar. He has also pleaded guilty in that case.

Jonathan Reuben, defending Beesley, said his client is a troubled young man who is attempting to deal with his alcohol problem, among other issues.

Judge David Miller adjourned the sentencing for a pre-sentence report to be produced.

However, having been shown the CCTV footage the judge decided to revoke Beesley’s bail.

“I have real concerns, looking at that CCTV footage, whether this young man is a danger to the public,” Judge Miller said.

He added that when it comes to sentencing, Beesley should expect an immediate prison sentence.
