South East London will pay its respects and remember the sacrifices of servicemen and women in a two-minute silence this Remembrance Day.

Observed every year since 1919, Remembrance or Armistice Day is marked on the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11.

Remembrance Sunday falls on the second Sunday of November which means that it will be observed on November 13.

Services are being planned across the county to commemorate the contribution of the Armed Forces and their families from Britain and the Commonwealth.

Remembrance Day events in South East London 2022

Greenwich

The Queen's House will be marking the day through workshops, live performances, film screenings and more.

The day starts at 12pm and lasts until 4.30pm, you can find out more via the website

Bromley

Taking place Sunday starting 9.45am at St John the Evangelist Church. 

There will be an annual service remembering those who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of others.

The service will include the laying of wreaths, the two minutes’ silence with the traditional bugle and the National Anthem.

Dartford 

The annual Service of Remembrance will take place at the War Memorial in Central Park, Dartford on Sunday 13th November.

The service will begin at 10.40am and will be followed by a march past by veterans, uniformed and youth organisations from the High Street and along Market Street past the War Memorial.

Lewisham 

On Sunday at Lewisham War Memorial, Lewisham High Street a  civic service and parade will take place. 

The service will be held at St Mary’s Church starting at 10.55am until 11.40am. 

Lewisham residents are welcome to attend the service. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at the Lewisham War Memorial at 10.30am.

There will also be a service on the corner of Lewisham Way and Upper Brockley Road at the Deptford War Memorial.

The service will commence at 10.55am until approximately 11.40am.
