Four people have been charged following multiple vehicle thefts across north Kent.

From Wednesday, December 29, 2021, to Wednesday, February 23, 2022, there were 18 vehicles stolen in Gravesend, Rochester, Higham, Dartford and Swanley.

Riley Scamp, 28, of Horsford Walk, Faversham and Abbey Caller, 23, of Saltun Close, Gravesend, have both been charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

A 17-year-old boy from Gravesend and a 16-year-old boy from Swanscombe have also been charged with the same offence.

All four suspects appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 4.

Mr Scamp and Ms Caller were taken to prison while the two teenagers were released under conditions.

The vehicles stolen included Ford Fiestas, Range Rovers and Jaguars with the thefts occurring during the day or early evening.

As part of the ongoing investigation officers linked the offences and have now charged four people in connection to the thefts.

The four suspects will appear before Woolwich Crown Court on Friday April 1.

A Kent police spokesperson said: “Four suspected car thieves have been charged following multiple vehicle thefts across north Kent.

“Between Wednesday 29 December 2021 and Wednesday 23 February 2022 there were 18 vehicles stolen from various addresses in Gravesend, Rochester, Higham, Dartford and Swanley.

“The vehicles stolen included Ford Fiestas, Range Rovers and Jaguars and the thefts occurred mainly during the day or early evening.

“As part of the ongoing investigation officers linked the offences and have now charged four people in connection to the thefts.

“Riley Scamp, 28, of Horsford Walk, Faversham and Abbey Caller, 23, of Saltun Close, Gravesend, have both been charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

“A 17-year-old boy from Gravesend and a 16-year-old boy from Swanscombe have also been charged with the same offence.

“All four defendants appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 4 March.

“Mr Scamp and Ms Caller were remanded to prison while the two teenagers were released under conditions.

“The four defendants will appear before Woolwich Crown Court on Friday 1 April.”
