A man found hanged in a Farnborough churchyard has been named locally as Ashley Yardley.

The man, in his 20s, was found hanged in the churchyard by St Giles Church, Church Road last week (June 14).

The body was reportedly discovered by a dog walker and police were called at 7.38am.

At the time, Ryan Boddington, who lives in the village, told News Shopper this isn’t the first suicide in the churchyard he has heard about, and thinks this could be the third death there in as many years.

His wife Sheila Boddington, from Farnborough, added: “It is tremendously sad. We have got to give our prayers.

“I have a son in the village and people feel very sad about this.”

At this stage the death is not believed to be suspicious.

Enquiries into the death and the circumstances are being carried out by officers from Bromley borough.
