Two youngsters accused of stabbing 17-year-old Shaquan Fearon to death in Brockley could face a retrial, after a jury was unable to reach a verdict on the charge of murder.
The two boys aged 15 and 16, who are too young to be named, denied the charges of murder, attempted murder and wounding with intent during a two-week trial at the Old Bailey.
They were accused of fatally knifing Shaquan as he walked to a community centre on the Turnham Estate on the evening of September 3, last year.
The promising footballer died from a stab wound to the thigh, and his friend Junior Inneh, now aged 18, was slashed in the face during the attack.
