A Chislehurst man was in shock when he saw an elderly man crash a car into a Tesco supermarket in Sidcup.

Henry James, 51, was shopping at the store in Edgington Way, and could not believe the speed at which the Jaguar smashed into the window.

News Shopper:

The driver reportedly hit two cars before racing into the shop at about 11.15am today (February 10).

Mr James claims the man looked “about 100 years old.”

He told News Shopper: “The driver was coming out of his parking space and he reversed into two other cars.

“He then managed to turn his car around and smash into the shop at speed. – I was in shock.

“He must’ve had a seizure or blacked out, there’s no other explanation.

“The man was able to get out of his vehicle and walk around and he looked about 100 years old.”

A Met Police spokesman said: “We were called at 11.16am to reports of a crash with a shop in Sidcup.

“The male driver looks to have suffered a leg injury.”

The man is still at the scene being treated.
