News Shopper:

Police were called at about 6.30pm on January 5 to reports of a burglary at an address in Mayday Gardens.

A motion sensitive camera was activated in the owner’s living room between 6:25pm and 6.35pm that day and a message was sent to his mobile informing him of the break-in.

The suspect heard the alarm and fled the property – police found that the rear patio door had been broken into.

The camera captured the suspect taking a laptop from the living room.

The suspect is described as a black man, with short dark hair and a thin beard.

He was dressed in a tracksuit with a light hooded top with ‘Duffer’ written across the chest, with gloves on his hands.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man or who witnessed anything suspicious.
