Dozens of Swanley homes should be created during a town centre regeneration, which was given the green light at a recent council meeting.
Sevenoaks District Council plan to improve three key sites on the High Street - building 14 new flats and 400sq metres of commercial space at the area known as the Meeting Point.
Planning permission for 27-37 High Street was granted at the Development Control meeting.
The Working Men's club and adjoining car park, which were bought by the council earlier this year, have also been pin-pointed for new homes in the coming years.
Council leader Peter Fleming said: "This is an exciting project for the council and one which we hope will help to regenerate and revitalise the town.
"There will be opportunities for new business space and new residential property and we hope this will positively impact on the residents and visitors.”
Sevenoaks Council want to invite architects to present designs for the sites, and local people and businesses are invited to comment on the plans.
