A pet dog who was spotted causing chaos on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing on Wednesday (July 8) has been found, after being missing for three days.

Drivers reportedly saw a black staffordshire bull terrier, with a pink collar, dodging traffic on the motorway and 'narrowly missing cars'.

His owners issued an appeal to find their staffy, and even offered a reward for his return.

They announced his return home this morning, after Blue was found near the home of his previous owner, who died less than a month ago.

Purfleet resident Amy Smith was appealing for information, saying: "He is truly missed by our family and children.

"We just want him home."

Miss Smith told News Shopper that she and her partner had been up all night searching for the dog - who has only lived with them for three weeks, following the death of his previous owner.

She added: "He is the soppiest dog in the world.

"He won't go for nothing.

"He is a fast little runner so that's the problem.

"The kids are missing him as well.

"I will offer a reward for him if anyone has any information."

Miss Smith belives the staffy escaped after her house was broken into, with Blue chasing the attempted burglars away.

The 20-year-old said: "We went out and all the windows were locked.

"My other half came from the school run, and there was blood and everything.

"We are thinking if the dog tried to chase him away..."

Aisha Apps first reported seeing the 'missing dog' in Aveley in Essex, at the roundabout between the A13 and the M25 towards Dartford at around 4pm.

She said: "I saw the dog run across the lanes of the roundabout narrowly missing cars, it continued to run around."

Gravesend resident Rosie Eccleston, 19, told News Shopper: "I thought I was going to be in a car crash.

"We were driving down the M25 to get to the Dartford Bridge to come back toward Gravesend.

News Shopper:

"I saw, in the in corner of my eyes, cars swerving in all directions - until I noticed in front of our car the dog running towards it.

"I just gasped and the driver swerved towards the fast lane, as I looked back the dog was still running towards oncoming traffic.

"I wanted to stop the car and get the poor dog I felt awful.

"It looked like a adult staff dark brown and I could see there was a collar round the dogs neck.

"I just hope to God the dog's okay and no one got hurt."
