A babyballet teacher from Belvedere, who has been dancing since she was just three-years-old, has been honoured by a national awards body.

Emily Waddell was crowned most outstanding activity leader for under-fives in the south of England at the 2015 What's On 4 Juniors awards.

The 22-year-old teaches five days a week at the Dartford, Bexley and Bromley branch of babyballet, after starting as a Saturday girl over three years ago.

She said: "Our classes aren’t just fun, they help develop children’s bodies and brains.

"I love to see the look on youngsters' faces during classes and I’m elated that parents have so much faith in me and got behind me."

Principal teacher Jessie Lilley described Emily as a "fantastic teacher".

She added: "We are all really proud of her and she has a bright future in the teaching world."

Emily was nominated by parents of children she teaches in a category with more than 100 individuals.

She was one of five finalists who attended the awards at Drayton Manor Hotel & Theme Park in Staffordshire.
