Police in Bexley are seeking witnesses after a 72-year-old man was assaulted.
On Friday May 29, at around 7.35pm, the victim was waiting to cross Bexley High Street.
A car stopped to let the victim cross but as he did so, another vehicle attempted to overtake and nearly collided with the victim.
After a brief exchange of words the victim walked off.
He was then attacked from behind, punched to the ground and kicked, before the suspect returned to his car and drove off.
The victim was treated by the London Ambulance Service at the scene.
The suspect is described as a black man, aged in his early 20s, of slim build with short black hair.
He was clean shaven, spoke with a local accent and was wearing a grey suit.
He was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa.
