A reckless driver tore through a residential road in Beckenham destroying two cars.

Residents of Crab Hill reported seeing a silver grey Audi tearing through the streets just after 12pm today (May 5).

It is thought the car was attempting a three point turn when it took out the parked Ford and Nissan.

MORE TOP STORIES Crab Hill resident Cathy Davies said: “I saw the car speeding by, or at least I caught a glimpse because it was going so quick.

“Then I heard a crash, it was like a mini explosion.

“I went outside and it was just devastation.

“It was obviously a high speed impact because there’s considerable damage; it’s not something you see every day.”

Mrs Davies, who’s retired, rushed outside and phoned the police.

She added: “They were both correctly parked, now they have serious damage, they’re probably written off. I would imagine they’re commuters’ cars.

“I think this vehicle is obviously involved is some kind of police action. In suburban roads cars do go quite quickly but this is an exceptional case.”

Luckily no one was in the parked cars at the time of impact.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Police were called to reports of a driver failing to stop after colliding with two parked cars.

“Enquiries are being made to inform the owners of the vehicles.

“Officers from Bromley investigate. Enquiries continue.”
