A Charlton drug dealer has been jailed after police raided a property to find a five-year-old boy with access to heroin and cocaine.

Rudy Kossi-Lessa, 28, of Lansdowne Lane, was arrested after a police raid following inteligence reports that drugs were being used and sold at his address.

On August 19 last year Greenwich Violent and Organised Crime Unit officers found large amounts of heroin and cocaine, together with scales, cling film and £6,200 in cash.

A five-year old boy was also found unsupervised inside the property with easy access to the tables covered in drugs.

When officers arrived, Kossi-Lessa was found sat in a parked car on his drive, smoking cannabis.

While police searched the property, Sadi Ngonga-Matuvangua, 24, of Pine Tree Way, Lewisham, visited and was found in possession of small parcels of brown powder, believed to be Class A drugs.

During his police interview, Kossi-Lessa admitted the drugs were for his own use but denied being involved in their supply, explaining the money was part of his saving fund.

Both men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs on February 17.

Kossi-Lessa was jailed for three years at Woolwich Crown Court on March 16 for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and cruelty to a child.

Ngonga-Matuvangua was given a 16 month sentence, suspended for two years, 200 hours of unpaid work and fined £100 for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

The raid on the address was funded by Greenwich Council.

Greenwich Council cabinet member for community safety and environment Jackie Smith said: "Many congratulations to the team on securing these convictions which send a clear and strong message that we are committed to working together to dismantle crime gangs.

"I am also pleased to see that the convictions have reflected the additional and shocking detail that while operating this illegal activities, they allowed a very young child such easy access to dangerous drugs."
