A man in his forties was hospitalised following a 'serious' crash in Bromley last night.

Around 9pm yesterday (February 28), a car ended up on its roof along Hastings Road, at its junction with Gravel Road, Bromley.

The London Ambulance Service sent two ambulance crews, a duty officer and a responder by car to the scene.

A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision.

"A man reported to be in his forties was taken to King's College Hospital as a priority."

What injuries he sustained are unclear at this point.

It is thought another five patients - some children - were treated for minor injuries.

Debris seemingly from cars was strewn across the side of the road.

Gravel Road resident Yousuf Osman, 72, said: "I heard a bang but I didn't see anything. Just after the police came chasing down.

"We were in the kitchen then we heard a big bang. They [police] caught them up."

A 34-year-old neighbour who did not wish to be named said: "We were in the living room when we heard one car going extremely fast and then a police car.

"The speeding car came straight past followed by the police sirens. We didn't see it but we knew someone was going really fast, not 40 or 50 mph but it had got to be up to at least 70mph.
