A cat in Mottingham had to be put down at the weekend after it was shot in the neck and left paralysed.
Bromley police today (Oct 20) confirmed a cat was shot and "suffered serious injuries", and said officers are investigating.
The owner, who asked not to be named, said eight-year-old Snoop was shot by a high-powered air rifle.
She said he was sitting on a neighbour’s garage in Ravensworth Road when he was targeted.
X-rays at the local veterinary surgery show a rifle pellet entered his neck and left him paralysed after being lodged in his spine.
The resident, who lives in Steyning Grove, told News Shopper: "He couldn’t move. Our neighbour found him on the floor and spent hours finding out who he belong to.
"It was terrible – we had to have him put down. I’m heartbroken and the family is devastated."
Bromley police ask anyone with information to contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
