Bake Off - An Extra Slice presenter Jo Brand entertained hundreds of Greenwich and Bexleyheath pyjama-clad walkers at the Community Hospice Moonlit Walk.

The BBC broadcaster and comedian had the sponsored walkers - including 50 hospice nurses - rocking with laughter at Bexleyheath's Broadway Shopping Centre on Saturday night before they took part in the 10km fundraiser. But she was seriouly full of praise for everyone who took part.

"I do think nurses are incredible and I think doing this, walking tonight to raise funds for the hospice, is beyond the call of duty - it's really impressive and I am glad I could come down and help,"said Jo, who lives near Dulwich.

The group were walking at 10pm at night to raise more than £50,000 to fund a community nurse for a year, to look after patients with life-limiting illnesses in their own homes. The hospice needs to raise more than £4million to continue its work helping more than 2,500 local people with life limiting illnesses each year.

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice fundraiser Megan Boyle said:

“This is the third Moonlit Walk for Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice, and the atmosphere on Saturday night was absolutely buzzing.

"Hundreds of flashing bunny ears lighting up the streets of Bexley - it was a wonderful sight to behold. We’d just like to say a big thank you to all the ladies who took part and raised sponsorship."
