Cray Wanderers is to star in a football documentary produced by one of Thailand’s biggest television broadcasters.

Over six million viewers are expected to tune in to learn about the football club when Unseen Football airs in the Far-East this winter.

A production team from Thai TV 3 filmed Cray Wanderers on August 12 at their home ground, heard about the club’s history and its plans for a new stadium.

Cray Wanderers chairman, Gary Hillman said he was pleased the club had attracted interest from the other side of the world.

He said: “The interest shown by a media company from nearly 6,000 miles away is fantastic and demonstrates how this great club’s name and history is being recognized and appreciated by those far from these shores.”

Krisdin Suwanbubpa, the documentary’s co-producer, said: "It's an honor to visit and learn about London's oldest football club.

“It is a chance to educate our viewers on an important part of English football history. I really appreciate Mr. Hillman and his team for their kind support."

The TV crew also visited St Paul’s Cray where they filmed the railway viaduct that some of the original team were building in 1859-60.

The team also filmed at the site of the club’s first ground, Star Lane Cemetery.

The show will feature interviews with club secretary Kerry Phillips, Match-Day Secretary Mark Simpson, Chairman Gary Hillman, and the club’s historian Jerry Dowlen.

The documentary, which will air in Thailand and neighbouring countries, will also feature Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea.
