THOUSANDS of Bexley pupils will be off school as result of next week's strike action.

At least six schools in the borough – with a combined total of 3,637 children – will close to allow staff to join a protest over pensions, pay and working conditions.

The walk out is being led by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Schoolmasters’ Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) on October 17.

On Wednesday Bexleyheath Academy announced it will shut and Bexley Council has today released a list of the schools which are to close: Crook Log Primary Upland Primary Mayplace Primary Westbrooke School Days Lanes Primary.

A number of others are partially closed.

Academies are not obliged to tell us but Trinity, Christ Church, St Augustines and St Catherines Catholic School for Girls will all be open.
